At this point, it's fair to say that Will Smith is the biggest movie star on the planet.

Few people have the box office drawing ability, few people can transcend race like Smith.

His appeal to me is he's a smart, savvy guy who works hard and knows how to enjoy his well-deserved success.

Will Smith seems to be genuinely nice and well adjusted man. As a talent we get to watch his maturing as an actor without all the sideline faux pas in his personal life. He is happily married to his spiritual equal and his love. He seems to be a great and attentive dad.

He transcends race because he was born at a time where race should not be the first thing that comes to mind when looking at him. He was born into a solidly middle income family with values and the expectation of the best efforts and actions from him. He and his wife, Jada, have strong families or origin that are supportive of them. Being in a position to be held accountable to those family members seems to be making all the difference in his personal and professional life.

His appeal is based on several things. He's good at what he does, he's personable, charming, good looking, smart, well spoken, down to earth, and classy... I mean classy in the way he relates to people. He's likeable and a pleasure to watch. That about covers it, I think!

Will Smith is a funny, likeable guy. He’s the kind of man that you would want to win the fight in an action movie. He’s the guy that makes us laugh.

I agree that Will Smith is insanely likeable. Many of the biggest stars are messed up or just plain rude - think of the incredibly talented Russell Crowe throwing a phone at someone. It's unimaginable that Will would do such a thing.
