Is IMAX the future of American cinema?

If you think about it, home entertainment centers are increasingly becoming sophisticated and a major part of the modern home. Why go out to the theater when you can nearly duplicate the experience for less money in your house?

Not with IMAX. There are no imitations.

I dont think IMAX is the new thing
I mean you can go to Randall's IMAX and the screen is no bigger than the regular screens at AMC30 in Warrenville.

I think if anything 3-d movies will come back and have some effect, maybe only on kids movies but still.

I understand and agree with your point on duplicating the experience in your house. However, I'd like to know how you figure on doing it for "less money" than going to a theater!

I would imagine it would be on credit.
If you go to the theater two times a month that can be quite expensive with a lot of people and it would equal a credit card payment on a system you bought for home.
