I thought Carell was great in "40 Year-Old-Virgin," a film which was his idea. And I love "The Office," he has a rich character on that show and that is a very creative cast. Since "Virgin," his films have been less impressive. From all accounts, he appears to be a really nice guy, and I'm definitely rooting for him, but I can't stand to see him do these lousy movies.
Well I thought the movie was a bit slow & predictable at the beginning but then hey I watched the tv show so it isn't like I don't know what to expect. By the end it got going more & I did enjoy it. I found the audience much older than I was so it may have been good to get him noticed by others. If he is doing well in more serious roles who knows maybe he will end up like Tom Hanks. To think of the comments about Tom Hanks in Bossom Buddies! And Adam Sandler has been doing a wondergful role in much serious roles like Spanglish & more recently Reign Over Me!
