The Illinois High School Football Coaches Association has announced its 2008 Hall of Fame class. Those who will be honored on April 4 in Champaign include:
-Tim Dougherty: Lincoln-Way Central head coach is on his sixth school, compiling a 149-58 record and leading five undefeated teams during his 29-year career.
-Ric Johns: Belleville West head coach has gone 155-74 in 28 years at three different schools.
-Bill Mosel: Now at Thornton, he is 161-80 across 29 seasons.
-Paul Workman: Cerro Gordo head man is at his third school in 29 seasons, with a 163-110 mark on his resume.
-Glenn Johnson: Retired head coach went 207-110-1 in 37 years at Carver DuSable, South Shore and Dunbar.
-Dale Patton: In 28 seasons, the retired head coach finished with a 137-95 mark.
-John Pocivasek: Across 23 seasons at Marquette in Ottawa and St. Bede in Peru, the retired head coach actually wound up below the .500 level (55-58).
-Bruce Reeder: The former head coach retired with a 129-75 record after 32 years at Mt. Zion and Nashville.
-Rich Roberts: In 35 seasons at Buffalo Grove, Prospect and Barrington, the retired head coach compiled a 109-85 record.
-Bob Shannon: The East St. Louis-area figure led five undefeated teams in his 28-year career, going 202-52.
-Gerald Temples: Retired head coach went 134-75 in 24 seasons.
-Mike Kunkle: Listed as a career coach, he was part of programs at Maine North and Warren during a 105-27 run across 30 seasons.
-Glenn Monken: Another career coach who lasted 41 seasons at Highland and Mater Dei (58-76-1).
-Kevin O'Neil: Career coach for 33 seasons (100-52).
-Ron Guagenti: Assistant coach honored for work at Rich East and Marian Catholic for 29 years.
-Mike Hyland: Assistant recognized after 35th year at Galena.
-Jim Longacre: The deceased coach will be recognized for his 33 years of service at Wyanet, Batavia and Wheaton Community.
-Dave Smith: The current head coach at Mt. Zion will receive the Ray Eliot Award for his work within the IHSFCA.
