Redhawks to hit the road

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

UPDATE: Here's the schedule story that explains how the District 203 work will impact its two football programs. It's not an ideal situation for the Redhawks, but considering how pumped up everyone gets to play at North Central College, a few extra games there or down the road at Benedictine could be welcomed by players and shouldn't be a major competitive disadvantage.

The renovation of Memorial Stadium could force Naperville Central to play eight road games in 2009. Athletic director Marty Bee is targeting October for the facility to be ready. Where the Redhawks will play Week 1 and 2 is still to be determined. The DuPage Valley Conference is set to begin the first of a two-year rotation, so Central negotiated to play more road games upfront in return for more home dates in 2010.
