Naperville Central diver Mike Greco told The Sun on Tuesday night that he hopes to be able to compete at the DuPage Valley Conference meet on Friday.
Naperville Central diver Mike Greco told The Sun on Tuesday night that he should be able to compete at the DuPage Valley Conference meet on Friday.
Greco has not competed since the Hinsdale Invitational on Jan. 12 because of a back injury. The junior said he is having trouble with a joint in his back that causes pain.
"Every time I jumped off the board it hurt," Greco said.
After consulting with a doctor and seeing a physical therapist twice a week, Greco said he should be able to perform at the DVC meet. The diving competition begins at 5 p.m. on Friday at Central.
"Usually it effects the height of my dives, which is a big part," Greco said about the back pain. "But I think it will be OK."
