The Sun has learned that the boys swimming and diving sectional originally scheduled to be held at Neuqua Valley High School has been moved to Naperville Central because of a scheduling conflict at Neuqua.
"N.V. had a conflict so Central helped us out and took the meet," the IHSA's Ron McGraw said in an email Tuesday night.
McGraw couldn't immediately confirm when the change was made. Sources at both schools said the change happened in the last two weeks.
The state speech contest will be held on Feb. 16 at Neuqua, making it necesarry to move the sectional. According to Neuqua coach Chad Allen, the speech contest has been on the calendar for a couple years.
"(The sectional) shouldn't have been scheduled in the first place," Allen said. "It's not a big deal that we're not hosting. It won't effect us at all."
