He's far from the only swimmer who has done this recently, but Naperville North sophomore Will Heidler still performed well on Tuesday night when he had to swim back-to-back events in the Huskies' easy win over West Chicago.
After swimming a leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay two heats earlier, Heidler won the 100-yard breaststroke, and then one race later swam the third leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay. The down time between races was less than five minutes.
It's all part of the game says Heidler.
"It's never going to be easy," Heidler said. "It's something than anyone has to get used to. I just try to warm down and get ready to go. No one who ever does that is going to have very much time to rest, especially with the 200 free relay. That was a fun combo tonight. It's tough to adjust to, but you have to get used to it."
