Bracket Challenge: Readers vs. Writers

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Patrick O is leading the Sun Bracket Challenge after the first weekend with 219 points, giving him an eight-point lead over Danny P.

Tom Sc. with 206, Gordon H with 200 and Thomas Su with 197 round out the top five heading into the Sweet 16.

While The Heat Index was not allowed to "officially" enter the Sun Bracket Challenge, meaning we can't win the glorious prizes or "officially" taunt the feeble readers and their silly picks, we did fill out a bracket.

There are eight of us on staff in the sports department: three editors and five writers. One of us did not participate.

None of us would have cracked the top 32 if we were "officially" entered in the Bracket Challenge. Um, yeah.

Pat Mooney has top honors with 173 points.

Me? I have 143, not even in the top 10 in our 18-person pool.

DMH: 164
Wanberg: 160
LaTour: 147
Nolan:145
Sosa: 126

I almost made a mistake and put 150 for Nolan's score, which would have been almost right. Carly Nolan, the wife of sports editor Brad Nolan, does have 150.

Don't sweat it boss. I feel your pain. My girlfriend Celeste is leading that 18-person pool of ours with 193 points.
