Neuqua Valley alumna Marisa Mele recently found out from the race director that she actually finished 10th at the Green Bay Marathon, not 11th as the official results still report.
What's the difference, right? Money, that's what. By finishing 10th, Mele was in line for some cash, according to an e-mail sent to The Sun.
The Green Bay Marathon was the first the former Elmhurst College runner had competed in since Mele picked up a sponsorship deal from Traction Sports Flooring. Not sure what sports flooing is exactly, but The Heat Index feels compelled to buy some right now.
Mele will next run in the Bix 7, which is a seven-mile race in Davenport, Iowa on July 26. The race has the largest purse for a non-marathon race in the U.S. It ought to with the scary looking hill the race starts and ends with.
