A thinking man's game?

By D.J. Wanberg
I returned from vacation today and one of the stops I made was to visit my sister who lives in the small town of Superior, Nebraska which is located in the southern part of the state just a few miles from the Kansas border.

One day we played golf at the Superior Country Club which has a nine-hole course with a water hazard on every hole.

I hadn't played in a couple of years and I discovered one thing. My brain hurts my golf game. When I turned it off, I made putts, I put chip shots on the greens and my drives put balls in orbit as we played the best ball format.

When thoughts crept into my mind, my drives and fairway shots could be measured with a yard stick. My putts and chip shots went great lengths across the greens into the rough.

My performance has renewed my interest in golf and I would like to play more. But if you see me on a course, don't ask me anything complicated. My brain will be in my golf bag.
