Golf improvement under one roof

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Cantigny Golf in Wheaton recently opened its brand-new Golf Academy, a facility dedicated to improving all aspects of one's game. It allows customers to get fitted for clubs, get their mental approach squared away, set up and exercise regimen and gain access to professional instruction, all under one roof.

Included on the academy's staff is licensed physical therapist Paul Callaway, who had the distinction of serving as the PGA Tour's first fitness director.

"Our goal is to create the premier instructional facility in the Chicagoland area, and to get him on our staff is a great thing," said Patrick Lynch, Cantigny head pro. "He's one of the pioneers of golf fitness."

The academy is fully operational already, but its grand opening will be Sept. 6.

"We're going to have a main stage-type setting where all our instructors and all the people involved in the academy will give presentations throughout the day, and you'll also have the opportunity to go in their individual areas and see what they're doing. We'll have complimentary 10-minute golf lessons, contests, a raffle, that sort of thing."
