Chris Brown's Football Camp wants...

you -- the City of Naperville -- to get involved with the camp next year.

Naperville North alumnus Chris Brown, a running back for the Houston Texans, needed help to make the vision for this weekend's camp at Calvary Church in Naperville possible. He got it from the City of Aurora and elsewhere -- see other sponsors here Camp Brochure.pdf -- but not from his hometown.

According to Chris' older brother Levelle, the camp's coordinator, phone calls went unreturned. The Sun left a message with the City of Naperville on Friday.

"We were able to hit them from a few different angles all at once and they saw how serious we were and they quickly jumped on board," Levelle said about Aurora, in a follow-up email to his interview with The Sun.

As the saying goes, there's always next year. Perhaps by then, when the Brown's hope to host a follow-up effort to this year's camp, Naperville will be on board with one of the better community outreaches.
