Brett is back

| | Comments (1) | TrackBacks (0)

So Brett Favre rejoins the Green Bay Packers today and reports are there will be an open competition for the starting QB job.

Did the Packers do the right thing or should they have figured out a way to keep Favre out of Green Bay?

Will they, should they still try to trade him to the Vikings or somebody else?

Who will start at QB for the Pack in the regular-season opener?

I think Favre is a special circumstance and if I were an owner, I wouldn't give this opportunity to just anyone but a player like Brett Favre doesn't come around everyday, though I think his best days are behind him or soon will be. I think Rodgers is a victim of circumstance and there should be an open contest for the starting spot, give him the opportunity, he's a warrior and is good for the game. He's passionate about what he does and that kind of passion dies hard. I can certainly forgive him if he changed his mind (several) times between his 'retirement' and now. Just because he's passionate doesn't make being a play-caller in the NFL...easy so he went back and forth. Green Bay was in the hunt last year and they blew it in the end, I'm sure that weighed on him plenty.
