Gina and Nicole were fun while they lasted

With Gina Glocksen voted off "American Idol" and Nicole D'Ambrosio fired from "The Apprentice," we can start thinking about getting back to the days when Naperville didn't have a resident -- let alone two -- competing in a popular television show viewed by millions each week.

Interesting side note on Nicole: Viewers watching ESPN 2 Sunday night during the hour before "Apprentice" would have seen Jim D'Ambrosio, identified as "a night club owner from Chicago," competing in a poker tournament. That had to be Nicole's brother, because her family talked often about gathering at the brother's bar in Chicago to watch "Apprentic" episodes.
