Mike Myers was watching TV at home when he heard a crash, looked outside and discovered a car was sinking in the pond behind his home. He swam out to the car and pulled the 16-year-old driver to safety.
Mike's actions could have saved the girl's life. He wasn't about to stand by on the shore and wait for emergency responders to arrive. The best part of the story in Wednesday's Sun is Myers' response about his quick reaction: "I would just hope that someone would do that for my wife or daughter."
The city council ought to honor Mike for his exemplary behavior with a resolution. His conduct certainly deserves some type of citizen award.
