For nearly two weeks Kate and I have been asking Naperville Sun readers to participate in our 5k training, and fundraising if they feel so inclined.
But no one has.
Maybe you don’t want to be committed to something, or you don’t want your name out there (you can donate anonymously online), or maybe you just don’t want to make the tax deducible contribution.
Thats okay, too – but then do something that doesn’t cost any money.
Friday, Kate and I participated in the Ultimate Drive at Bill Jacobs BMW in Naperville.
We drove a sleek silver convertible around Naperville, racking up eight miles on the brand new 328i. That’s $8 donated the Susan G. Komen Foundation and it cost us nothing other than a few more tangles in our windblown hair!
For every mile driven in the 23 vehicles available for during the Ultimate Drive event, $1 was donated by BMW to the Komen Foundation.
I guess there really is such a thing as a free ride.
