Naperville's got a wealth of spring, summer and fall festivals. Naper Days....Ribfest....Last Fling....Oktoberfest to name the major ones. And while everyone seems to like Naper Days' tasty samplings from city restaurants, and the ribs at Ribfest are mouthwatering mounds of gastronomic pleasure, isn't there something about Last Fling that kind of outweighs them all? What could be more joyous than all those kids, kids and more kids (and parents) enjoying the carnival rides, music and all the rest of the events that transform downtown Naperville into one big Labor Day carnival? Plus, it's the last big blast of summer as the kids head back to school and everybody gets ready for the chilly onset of fall and winter. Any ideas out there on what your favorite Naperville festival is? We're listening and we're sure a lot of Napervillians are, too.
What's the best fest?

While all are very enjoyable in their own right, I have to lean towards Ribfest. I really enjoy the food ( more than Last Fling) - and also there always seems to be more bands I actually want to see - especially with the 2nd stage added a few years ago. The only thing that concerns me is space for the continually growing crowds.
I take advantage of and enjoy all the Naperville events and not sure we all appreciate the wide variety of offerings we have. Although not a fesitval per se, I would rank All Hallows Eve at Naper Settlement as the most fun and unique happening though.
Who cares which festival is the best! The problem is both of these events brings in a horde of "undesirables" to our beautiful Naperville. I never saw so many fat, cigarette smoking, tattooed hillbillys when I went to the Ribfest last year. I vowed then that I would quit going because I did not want to subject my children to these people. I think Naperville should cancel these events in the future. They just bring in the worng element.
Given that I don't have kids, the Last Fling is a bit less enjoyable or exciting for me than the other festivals organized at this time of year. The Ribfest was fantastic, seeing so many people out and about to savor some good food! It is particularly busy and parking is sort of a bear, but the shuttle service from various points around Naperville is a great idea that deserves more credit!
Eyes to the Skies - it's got everything.
