Is Naperville nightlife too successful?

| 2 Comments | No TrackBacks

Guest columnist Mohammed Sagha writes in Sunday's Sun that downtown Naperville nightlife is in danger of becoming a victim of its own success.

Sagha's point is that healthy economies are diversified, and he thinks downtown has enough restaurants, clubs and bars.

As The Sun has chronicled in recent reports, downtown gradually transforms from a family-friendly atmopshere during the day into a young-adult playground late at night. Police do a good job patrolling for drunks, and the City Council has taken notice of the lack of public restrooms.

What do you think? Is everything OK downtown, or are there problems that need to be addressed? Should Naperville be concerned about its booming nightlife, or ride this wave of success as far as it goes?

I don't know about Jim, but I like urine in the street. It reminds me of New Orleans. I think it'd be sweet if we could create that kind of atmosphere.

I guess some people like to see other people urinating in the street.
