I would like to split my vote between AMEENA and RANDY for the reasearch they have done on this explosive Napergate Story.

I have never read a more exciting or thrilling story on any internet site that I can recall. This story has so many twists and turns it just mesmerizes me. I can't wait to hear the next chapter in Napergate! It does not seem like this is an old story but a story with fresh legs that are ready to sprint somewhere and uncover something. I hope the Sun, both internet and print, continue covering it! Maybe the extreme interest in the Napergate Case is the fact it was never covered in the past! Plus there is yet much more to uncover in City Hall with no one to uncover it.

My favorite blogger is Randy for his memorable recording posted yesterday on the Napergate thread. He records a battle between the Naperville Sun and the Napergate Man that has been kept top secret for over a dozen years. Having history recorded late is better than having history never recorded!

Randy did an awesome job! Hope you bloggers read his detailed documentary!

Ameena gets my second place vote! Randy got the nod because his information seemed from first hand knowledge and his memory equalled that of an elephant! An absolutely impeccable memory of history!

AMEENA!

Her writings eloquently speak for themselves!

Plus, I like her name becasue it rhymes with mine.

I have no clue who else the Napergate Man took on.

I suspect Mrs. Police Officer has all the answers but was ordered to stop blogging by the Police Chief!

Something does not make sense, since she was so helpful providing us with all the answers from the opposite side of the aisle!

I wish Mrs. Police Officer would come back and shed some light as she did in the past.

My favorite is Ameena.

She is like an investigative reporter who just won't quit until she gets to the bottom of the barrel...she is relentless!

The Napergate Man saved my home in Pembroke Commons from having a smelly dumpster right along the fence in my back yard. I like hearing about him. But I never knew anything about his life before Spring Green. This is all new to me and I am utterly shocked with what I am reading daily on these blogs!

I believe I have been a bad citizen and forgot to vote. Spending too much time at the library can make one a bad citizen.

My vote is for ELI HODAPP because of his short blog below about Napergate:

***********************************************************************************************

Ted, are you able to go through the NaperSun archives and scan a couple of these advertisements? The whole fiasco sounds pretty entertaining. I imagine the library has archives of The Sun on microfiche if you guys don't keep archives, where would be a good place to start looking? Do you have any specific dates when the ads were published readily available?

***********************************************************************************************

With this now infamous short blog of his, he got both Ted and I digging into historical Napergate archives and finding probably the most interesting case in the 175 year history of Naperville.

ELI HODAPP inspired me with this short blog!

This case is about cover-ups and we have barely touched the surface. This Napergate Man uncovered singlehandedly more than all Napervillians combined uncovered in their 175 year long history. It is a remarkable story of what ONE MAN can do if he has the WILL POWER and MIND SET.

If you want more information you need to buy the Sunday's Naperville Sun with a spectacular front page or join us in blogging at the new Napergate thread.

My vote is for ELI HODAPP because he motivated me to begin my research and get me off my obsession over a minor TOWING VIOLATION. I am glad I moved on to something more important. I believe the Napergate Man broke the ice to FREE SPEECH in this TOWN and even in this NEWSPAPER.
His battle was initially reported to be a one decade struggle! As you dig deeper, you realize it was a 2 decade struggle. The first decade was a very quiet struggle! The second decade was a very loud struggle!

I have been so facsinated with this story, I one day hope to write a book about it titled the NAPERGATE MAN. It is nice when you don't have to think of a title for your book. That is a good start!

I am certain it will be a best seller in Naperville but also sell across the country because it describes the POWER OF ONE HUMAN BEING once that human being sets his or her mind to CONQUER the highest of mountains and the and deepest of oceans. It is really a remarkable story of the human spirit!

ELI HODAPP, again thanks for pointing me to the library! I wish the Napergate Man's ads could be posted by the Naperville Sun on the net so I would not have to go in this cold to the library. Can you give me an assist, TED! If you do, you are my RUNNER UP!

Of course if the ads were posted on the Naperville Sun web site, you would have been 1st place with ELI HODAPP in close second! Am I ever the diplomat here...lol!

And finally thanks to all the bloggers who voted for me. Sorry about the delayed thank you but you all now where I have been...THE LIBRARY!!!

PS. I am hoping my book will be a good seller because I had to make 6 stops before I could find a PRINT EDITION of the Sunday NaperSun NEWSPAPER covering the Napergate Fiasco! Apparently it is a popular topic in PRINT as well as BLOGGIN! I found piles of Friday and Saturday Sun newspapers but only one copy of Sunday paper left at a 7-Eleven. Two Jewels, Two Dominicks, and one Dunkin Donuts were sold out before I could finally get my copy at 930pm. And the Naperville Sun did a spectacular job on the FRONT PAGE! Kudos to the designer of that page...I will be using him or her for the cover of my upcoming book! It is nice to dream but dreams do sometimes become reality and I love to write as you can all see from my long blogs on many threads!

I promised I would endorse Ameena after reading her latest research on the Napergate Man on the new Napergate thread.

Sorry, I am late but I am keeping my promise!

Ameena is the BEST...absolutely the BEST!

Marshall seems to be the Man! He's firm yet eloquent!

Dough Boy, you've got it goin' on.

AMEENA'S relentless research and latest blog on the Ponds of Hobson West inspired me to write my latest post on All Eyes on 75th St. regarding "Encroahing Commercialization" this morning!

In her last post on Ponds of HW, she reminds us how our incompetent council flip flopped 3 times before surrendering to the residents on Spring Green in the Napergate Age. Her rehashing of those Napergate ads just brings back so many memories. And to think it is happening all over again like it was a decade ago. It is as if time did not move! Her timing was impeccable! Kudos to Ameena for her timing!

AMEENA gets my top vote and she is truly a talented and articulate young lady with ENORMOUS ENERGY!

I like McFarlad for his latest posts on the District 204 blogs.
He tells it as it is regarding gang problems in Naperville vs Aurora. Most of the bloggers are in denial and think Naperville's gang problems are as severe as Aurora's.

He also questions these huge legal expenses by our government bodies and asks how the Napergate Man can fight the same battles for cents on the dollar and win with again no one having any answers for him.

My vote is for the HUNTINGTON ESTATES LADY. She described how the Napergate Man and Activist Donna Rogers combined forces to save the value of so many homes along beautiful Hobson Rd. from an untasteful commercial center or possibly a gas station as the host indicated on another thread today.

She is also the one that quashed rumors that the Napergate Man retired to Arizona thru a confirmed visual siting!

After reading Ameena's latest post this morning on the Ponds of Hobson West, it became evident to me why she is getting so many votes. I just read it! Not only is she a thorough researcher, but she is a remarkable writer who can tie everything while making it simple to understand.

If you want to understand how the media works, how politics in our town works, how to get a grassroots movement going, anything about how Napergate pertains to Furstenau or Rosanova just read her latest post. She has all the factual answers. You will not be disappointed!

My vote is exclusively for Ameena!

I like AMEENA for 1st Place! No one else goes to the library to get us facts and history and ties the Napergate Era to the present and future. Don't know how she does it but always works hard and is willing to get off her butt! She is always so precise!

I have to agree with many voters that this Mrs. of the Police Officer is one unique lady and has the ability to bridge the gap between police and residents. She is my runner-up! I use to be anti-police. She neutalized me!

I like MARSHALL. He seems to try to tone it down when the moderator is missing and people are losing their tempers.
He seems to convery a moderating presence of sorts.

Melissa, I haven't disappeared... I just ran out of things to say regarding District 204's stupidity and Naperville vs. Furstenau months ago. I contribute in any posting that doesn't beat dead horses, as d.bone put it.

Although really, at this point, regarding District 204 and Naperville vs. Furstenau, the horse was already beaten to death, kicked all the way to the glue factory, and now we're just clubbing a bottle of Elmer's finest craft paste. If I had my way, I'd change the tag line of the Potluck from "A forum for comments about Naperville news and issues." to "Yes, we know District 204 is run by morons. Furstenau and the City of Naperville are equally ridiculous."

1.For most research......Ameena

2.For nicest guy..........Kevin

3.For longest but informative blogs......Melissa....

PS. Little surprised everyone missed Kevin as he tries so hard even though he fumbles the ball once in a while....let us give him a break and get him some votes!

I say a tie between Ameena and Mrs. of a Police Officer.

One gives us the Napergate Man's view of the world based on her research in the library

The other gives us the police officer's view of the world based on her conversations with her husband.

When you combine their opposing views you are getting something close to the REAL WORLD! Somehow the truth is always somewhere between the opposing views.

Hope you don't mind, I posted this in another thread also, but...

Hey Everyone from Marshall, Melissa, Marilyn Ameena, Joe, d.bone, & T.B., to the Host and Moderator…

I have to say that reading all of the topics and postings (& ultimately becoming involved) has really sparked something here. I live, work and play in Naperville – but I realize that I don’t really know very much. I think my resolution for the new year is to start paying attention to City Council meetings and learning more about how the city works. I have never been very interested in politics, but I’m thinking that it might be very interesting and informative to attend these meetings, read the minutes or watch the video, depending on my schedule.

Thanks everyone for enlightening me.

i am going to have to go with myself, d.bone. as my favorite blogger. the rest of you are self centered, egotistical, and mostly wrong in your opinions and stances. i have witnessed some of the dumbest, illogical, and most ill conceived thinking ever. there is a phrase called, "beating a dead horse." anyone ever hear of it ?

I'll go with MELISSA.

She just joined the frying pan lately and has been on a tear on a few threads plus doing some eyewitness research. I would like to see more bloggers get off their computers and get us some facts!

My vote also has to go to Ameena for somehow connecting the Napergate Case to the Furstenau Case and all her research at the library. She convinced me there is some connection and relevance. My hat goes off to her!

She did, however, get a major assist from the longest post I have ever seen on any blog anywhere in my life, by either the Moderator or Host, documenting every Napergate Ad by a date going back at least a decade. But one has to give her credit for following thru with the information provided by the Moderator/Host! Can't remember who it was! Sorry!

I promised on another thread I would nominate Marshall as my favorite blogger for his level headedness and logic. So here I come! Since others are selecting 3 here are mine.

Marshall first, Ameena second, Randy and McFarland tied for third.

Footnote
Runnerup: Eli Hodapp but she disappeared it seems!

Marshall,

So many bloggers and comments, so little time. We jump in there whenever we can.

1. Mrs. of Police Officer by a mile and a half
2. Melissa and Marilyn who debate her constantly.
3. Ameena who did a nice job of explaining a towing problem with persistence.

The moderators and host do not get my vote because they are missing in action way to often and never intrude to bring the boiling point down a touch. But I like them when they make their rare presence and most of what they say is factual.

I appreciate everyone who participates because each person brings a different dynamic to the discussions which would have not been there without them posting.

I'd be remiss if I didn't say that host Ted Slowik does a remarkable job hosting this blog - raising insights and stimulating dialogue that's important to the community.

Good picks so far. I also admire Eli, Thom and Ameena for doing their homework and presenting such intelligent, informed positions that help enlighten us all. And I've got to tip my hat to Joe for his frequent participation that stimulates debate.

1st. Ameena by far.. She did tons of research at the library and shed light on the Napergate Case and relevance to the Fustenau Case.

2nd. The Moderator

3rd. The Host

Actually, I like Joe's comments, no sarcasm, because he seems to put the moset effort into it and he stands up for what he believes in.

Thom Higgins. He does the best job tearing apart all the weak arguments made by those who are against the 203 referendum.

Ummm (sarcastic grin)...yeah, Joe, definately Joe ;-)

JK Joe—you keep the energy up in these blogs.

I'd have to say Eli Hodapp. He writes insightful, creative blogs on a consistent basis. His google blog was one of the best all year! The guys GOD to me! We love you Eli!
