Are you worried about swine flu

| | Comments (59) | TrackBacks (0)

A swine flu outbreak that began in Mexico and is quickly spreading around the world has jumped into the headlines this week.

While the outbreak is relatively small, many fear it will turn into the long-feared flu pandemic that could compare with the 1918 flu, which killed millions worldwide. No one has yet died in the United States, but dozens are suspected to have died in Mexico.

Other recent disease scares have failed to live up to dire predictions, including the avian flu scare a few years back and the previous swine flu scare in the 1970s. Do you think this threat is overblown, or are you concerned? Are you going to take any special precautions?

Big Fat City Pensions will get my Tax Refund

Is the swine flu outbreak a govt conspiracy of some kind brought about to increase taxes and gain greater control over the masses? Im sure you must have an opinion of some kind.

Worried? Not at all, by equipping the sacred talisman of Napergate I gain a +10 to saving throws against disease.

One thing I've been giggling about all day is this Huffington Post article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/27/gop-stripped-flu-pandemic_n_191732.html

Watch the video. (:

I certainly am worried about swine flu.

It was time to shut the Mexico/ US border and order all non-essential travel stopped this past weekend or before. Or do we all just hope the passive border measures like looking for signs of fever supposed to keep people calm. Forget about little things like people can come through the border a few hours short of showing signs of the flu, such as fever and coughing, and then come in and infect a few hundred people. What prevents hundreds or thousands of Mexican nationals coming here in the incubation stage infecting thousands of Americans? Is this government being run by the Keystone Cops? Meanwhile, the King of Doubletalk, Obama, said today this isn't a cause for alarm though (1)a "national public health emergency" was declared by Napalitano today (2) and about 200 people have died in Mexico and 2000 are in the hospital and (3) WHO has declared a level 4 alert today.

Right, Obama, no cause for alarm. This idiot is showing his true ineffective style of "leadership." Thousands of Americans may die as a result of his "leadership." Close the borders and allow no flights to Mexico NOW.

If the swine flu continues to circulate, I would recommed cancelling the PigFest indefinitely.

With only 17% of its proceeds going to charity according to Anonymous on the Pig Thread, I think we can come up with a better event with more talented sponsors who know how to watch the bottom line.

A decent charity should contribute substantially more than 17% of its revenue to the needy, poor and abused living in shelters.

Obama and the Democrats are passing the enabling legislation for "National Health Care" in DC as I type.

Once implemented, you will die while waiting in line for your flu shot while some bureaucrat in DC goes back and forth between your application for treatment and their ham sandwich.

Talk to people from other countries, this will be rationing.

I think that any undocumented virus' that have made it into our country should be granted full legal status and given driver's licenses, free health care and a job that no other naturalized American would want. Everyone out there who opposes these virus' should be ashamed of themselves!

The office of president should be respected no matter who is in office. Calling a president an idiot is so disrespectful. Doesn't matter if it's a republican or democrat, it's the president of our United States. When are we going to get back to basics and show a little respect around here?

I am concerned about swine flu, but not worried. I am not more concerned about swine flu than I am about influenza generally. However, that being said, I will definitely seek medical treatment for myself and my family earlier if a high fever presents rather than riding it out (like I did last year). I have also reminded my 5th grader about the importance of hand washing/sanitizing and avoiding touching your mouth, nose or eyes.

YES we are very, very concerned about the SWINE-FLU epidemic? Do you have any idea how many of our students went to Mexico?? Dozens in Bensenville alone. Not to mention the N-ville teacher showing up on TV. Rumors abound let's use caution and close the border before it is to late!!

It's a miracle.

Just as we are voting on Government Rationed Health Care:

*Late Season Virus becomes a crisis.

*No quarantines and border with Mexico left wide open, to spread the little germs.

*Far Left extreme abortion supporter for HHS will get her failing nomination put forward like tax cheat Geitner. Its a crisis and she's the only one we have on deck to save us!!!!!

*All of the far left follow ons for the HHS secretary can now also be rushed through

*If the virus really is bad, and not just an exercise in PR hype to get the HHS secretary and Govt rationed health care rammed through; All of the old, weak, sick and young may die off before the Govt has to pick up the tab. We need a pandemic to balance the budget!!!

With tax collections collapsing and the deficit already doubling from $10T to $20T in Obama's first year, this is a sign from God that we need to Nationalize Banking, GM, and Health care under the guidance of our Leader.

Good thing Dick Cheney hasn't coughed on anyone, Holder could charge him with terrorism especially if he doesn't stop criticizing the Leader.

To get a confession out of him they can tape his eyes open and make him watch Obama speeches where he says the word "Pie" 30 times in 10 minutes to his adoring followers.

To the post above, Obama is not and idiot.

No, not worried about swine flu in the U.S. at this point. Some Americans have fallen ill but none have died. If I were in Mexico, however, I would be very concerned.

Why is it that 200 people in Mexico have died of this but none anywhere else? Do Mexicans not have access to adequate medical care? Are they as a population less healthy and therefore more likely to die when becoming ill? The WHO probably knows, but I haven't heard anything about this yet.

From a political standpoint, tho, you gotta laugh at the bad luck of the Republican critics. Timing sure is everything! First Bobby Jindahl ridiculing the volcano monitoring $$ in the stimulus bill a few weeks before Mt. Redoubt erupted, several times, threatening oil pumping stations.

And now Senator Susan Collins taking credit for cutting millions out of the stimulus bill for "pandemic preparation", and right on the heels of this victory--a flu pandemic!

And in the midst of the growing flu scare, the Republicans are still filibustering Obama's Health and Human Services choices. Some Americans, like Jack above, believe the flu threat is a crisis, but the Republicans still appear to be putting politics above the well-being of the American people.

Come on, Jack. Who are the folks really looking like idiots here?

Does Mexico have national health care? Yes?

I prefer to call a spade a spade. When the President willfully chooses not to protect the people of this country, despite the oath he recently took, he will not be accorded any respect by me. I'll respect the Office but not the individual. He can close the borders now or he can keep blathering about his concern while doing nothing. It is hoped this will all blow over but if it gets much more serious and people start dying here because of administrative inaction and ineptitude, perhaps you can write again how Obama should be respected.

I don't think this is a crisis yet, whatthe? But it easily can become a crisis if the border is not closed. Why let thousands of possible infected people come to the US daily? As to your question, look in the mirror.

I just did a quick Google of Mexican health insurance. An April 16 article states that approximately 50 million people in Mexico are without health insurance, and they're currently running pilot programs to more effectively bring health care to the poor.

Doesn't sound like national health care to me.

From everything I have seen, Mexico can be characterized as having third world health care and sanitation. Did anyone see CNN yesterday where Dr. Gupta mentioned the health care workers at the Mexico City hospital were demonstrating in front of the hospital because they had no face masks?
Another reason to close the borders ASAP.

Get a grip, Anonymous, and try not to take this to a personal level. It's childish.

Closing the borders is much easier said than done. And given the number of people from Mexico who enter the U.S. illegally every day, pretty much impossible. It may slow the spread of the virus, but it will get in anyway.

What you're missing in your xenophobic hysteria is that Mexico has a population of 110 million. 200 dead, 2,000 hospitalized as of today sounds huge but is actually small in comparison to the overall population. And their population is compromised by third world standards of health care and sanitation in many areas. Now is not the time to freak out and try to put Mexico on lock down. Watch closely and monitor, you bet, which is being done. Trying to restrict movement should be a last resort, not a first.

To Interesting: The American people got very comfortable calling their president an idiot during the Bush years. I'm afraid it's here to stay.

The story continues to evolve, but from the stories I am reading the issue is not so much with Mexicans coming into the U.S. as it is U.S. citizens returning from Mexico who have been exposed. Today's news indicated that 16 planes land at O'Hare each day from Mexican cities.

The school in N.Y. where their highest incidence of flu broke out were all students who went to Mexico for spring break. Should we close the borders to not even allow U.S. citizens back in the country?

It is also not unusual for different countries to have populations who have built up immunities to some diseases while having little ability to fight off others. The best example of this is when Columbus and his crew came ashore in the America's. The Indians didn't have any immunity to the illnesses introduced. It's probably a stretch to compare 1492 to today, but the idea is that whether genetic, cultural or environmental - there are differences in groups that for whatever reason seem to make a difference in immunity.

Read the book "State of fear" and you will undersand why everything nowadays needs to be presented to us as an emregency.

To whatthe?:
You reference "xenophobic hysteria" and "freak out" and I would sauggest you're the only one here so far who is freaking out by your use of these extremes of language ands accusationas against other posters. Closing borders to protect the population is not xenophobic. Cuba just closed flights to Mexico today. Since both Mexico and Cuba are basically of the same native Indian and Spanish backgrounds, I wonder if you consider the Cubans as xenophobic or rather protective of their population. You might want to get a grip.

To what the?:

Good post. I'd like to add that closing the borders is also pretty much beside the point, now, as the virus has already spread to the U.S. and Europe. The other thing to keep in mind is that on average, 35,000 or so Americans die of the flu every year

You need to go back and read your's and Anonymous's posts on this topic. Your word choices make it clear: Close the borders! Restrict travel to Mexico! Obama's not protecting the people of his country! When people here start dying . . .! and so forth.

You really need to think about how difficult and marginally effective closing the border would be from a practical and economic standpoint. It is not an action to be taken lightly and done at the first whiff of trouble. At this point in the game it would be an extreme response.

Look at this article from the Washington Post:

Napolitano: Border With Mexico to Stay Open for Now

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano rejected calls to close the U.S.-Mexico border in response to the swine flu outbreak, saying the costs to both countries at this point outweigh the medical benefits.

"You have to look at what the costs of that are. We literally have thousands of trucks and lots of commerce that cross that border. We have food products and other things that have to go across that border. So that would be a very, very heavy cost for -- as the epidemiologists tell us -- [what] would be marginal, if any, utility in terms of actually preventing the spread of the virus," Napolitano said.

Notice the words "for now" in the title. This can always be an option if things in Mexico look to be getting out of control, which they're not yet. The disease is already in the U.S., mostly brought back by Americans who went to Mexico on vacation, not by Mexicans crossing the border with all their little germs in tow. And keep in mind it is impossible for the U.S. to ever totally close its border with MX anyway.

And I'm surprised you used Cuba as an example of how America should protect its people. Really? REALLY? Cuba is an ISLAND. It doesn't share almost 2000 miles of border with Mexico like the U.S. does. And Cuba is a communist country. The government there has been restricting the travel of its citizens for the past 50 years; they're used to this. Americans don't take kindly to these kind of restrictions, even when in their own best interests. People expect these kinds of things from countries like Cuba, not the U.S.

I think the action that is being taken now is an appropriate response to the situation. Watch, monitor and inform. If the situation changes, so can our response. I think those calling for extreme measures at this juncture are just looking for an excuse to Obama bash more than anything.

Hey guys and gals let's at leat get in the game! A case of suspected SF @ Kilmer Elementary in Chicago. More cases are 'suspected' to show up there. Hundreds of HISPANICS visited Mexico over spring/Easter vacation! They traveled with or without parents, visiting relatives in MEXICO. A man in L.A. has died due to confirmed case of SF. Hundreds suspected cases in new york city! The borders need to be closed but the Conbine will not allow that to occur. Kind of knocked IRC and REFORM off the front page:} Brace your family for the worst and you can claim you practiced due diligence.

I'm not so much concerned with the swine flu itself as I am with the mass hysteria that could result. Exhibit A: Monday's "suspicious fire" at a Mexican grocery store in Bolingbrook. http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/bolingbrooksun/news/1545915,Bolingbrook-suspicious-fire-NA042709.article

In 1976, the US freaked out over swine flu. We unnecessarily vaccinated 40 million people, some of whom ended up with Guillain-Barre syndrome from the vaccine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swine_influenza#1976_U.S._outbreak

To avoid a repeat of the 1976 debacle, I prefer to see caution and thorough planning instead of knee-jerk reactions from our government. It sounds to me like everyone can do a lot to protect themselves and others simply by using common sense--covering your mouth when you sneeze or cough, not sending kids to school or daycare when they're sick, etc.

remember the Arrow Head Golf Course free illness
over 100 people got ill from one kitchen worker

I not MORE concerned about the Mexico / flu
than I was before it was announced

since staying away from co-workers with kids in daycare
and working from home; the incidence of illness for myself
and my other WFH co-workers dropped significantly

just going out to eat can be downright dangerous

I`m more worried about Pontiac and Saturn going out of business than the threat of swine flu. Following Oldsmobile and American Motors our auto industry is failing, while americans are buying foreign autos. Bypassing american made cars in favor of cars manufactured by the countries that brought you world war II and Pearl Harbor is un-american. Especially in a time that our manufacturing industries need our support. Swine flu is a passing threat, while our citizens are loosing their jobs and contributing to a domino effect on our economy. I`ll buy an import when PIGS FLY!! Oh... but my lexus or mercedes is better than your ford or chevy. Then move to Germany or Japan yea citizen of the world.

Is hyperbole your specialty? Try arguing the merits of whatever point you think you have, versus phonying up what others have written.

Look at this article, dearie:

Lawmaker wants border closed over swine flu
By Molly K. Hooper

The "swine flu" that has infected more than 1,000 people in Mexico has led a lawmaker on the House Homeland Security Committee to call on U.S. officials to close the southern border.

Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.) said the border should be closed until the threat is resolved.

"The public needs to be aware of the serious threat of swine flu, and we need to close our borders to Mexico immediately and completely until this is resolved," Massa said in a statement.

"I am making this announcement because I see this as a serious threat to the health of the American public and I do not believe this issue is receiving the attention it needs to have in the news," Massa said.

Jack, previously I wrote:

Additionally, you advocate (or at least agree with Rep Eric Massa) that the border should be closed. Should we also stop all flights originating in Mexico destined for any U.S. city? The N.Y. kids all flew back to N.Y. and brought the virus with them. Closing the border wouldn't have prevented anything.

Swine flu! Who cares! They're gunna let some guy drive a hotdog cart around town. That's just crazy talk.

It's the flu. Get over it. The media's freaked everyone out over a virus that comes around ever Winter. This time it's April. Big deal. It's just the flu. You get it and you get over it, unless you're old and frail.

There's nothing special about this flu except that it arrived in April. It's not more virulent. it's not more contagious. It's not more deadly. It's just the flu.

Jack:

My, aren't you touchy. I write a moderately toned 350-word reply and all you focus on are 4 exclamation marks on the second line? Sounds like someone needs a nap.

So Rep. Massa also thinks the U.S. should close the border. That just makes two people with a bad idea. The Washington Post article I made reference to above goes on to state:

On Friday, Rep. Eric J.J. Massa (D), a freshman lawmaker from upstate New York, called for a complete closure of the border. He was joined Monday by Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, a group that advocates for reduced immigration, which urged Congress to halt all but "non-essential traffic" at the border and the deployment of the U.S. military to stop illegal immigration.

Massa changed his tune slightly Tuesday morning. "The good news is, it looks like this kind of swine flu is treatable if you can get to the doctors within three to four days," he told MSNBC, adding that his point was that the U.S. government needed to control its borders. "To the extent that my request has brought attention to this in the United States, I think I've served the people of my district," he said.

Whew, I'm glad he clarified that. For a moment there I thought he was serious! Check it out:

Whatthe?: You tamper with the posts of others and then you call them touchy? And then you are called on it, so you decide to go on to further name-calling.

For further info on the Obama administration on not closing the borders regarding swine flu, watch Joe Biden squirm, deflect (whatthe? you're good at that too) and avoid some simple questions on the Today Show this morning:
"Biden: Planes, trains bad idea with flu
Closing the border won't work, he says, but staying off subways a good idea."
April 30, 2009
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/30494440#30494440

Biden's foot in mouth and deflection show:
Biden wouldn't get on a plane himself or be in any confined space but sees nothing wrong with letting air travel continue with Mexico. Translation: keep washing your hands and keep allowing infected people entering the US.

"...So, say the basement is flooded, NBC's Matt Lauer asked Biden - one shuts off the faucets in the house, but doesn't one shut off the main, too?

"If the analogy were appropriate, yes, but I don't think the analogy is appropriate,'' Biden said. "The point being made by the World Health Organization is that this is in other countries, too... which borders do we close? Do we close the Canadian border?... This is not an efficacious use of our efforts.''....
http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2009/04/swine_flu_border_closings_wont.html

That's right, Mr. Biden, change the subject to Canada. Is that where the swine flu started? No. Keep deflecting the main issue of closing/ not closing the southern borders to land and air travel. I wonder if Obama and Biden would like a planeload of passengers direct from Mexico at their own houses this evening.

Jack:

Name calling? Using the word touchy is name calling? Gee, that seems to me to be a bit, well, . . . touchy. And tampering with and phonying up other people's posts? Really, I think you're giving me far too much credit.

I try to ignore Joe Biden. He shouldn't be worried about the flu; he needs to treat his foot-in-mouth disease. Sorry to have to say it, but he is a bit of a buffoon. Now THAT'S name calling. It's like still having W. around. W and Biden seem to be cut from similar molds, they both come across as over-growth frat boys at times. But I think the reason he brought up Canada was not to deflect, but because Canada, like Mexico, shares a big border with the U.S.

And I think Massa calling for border closings made him appear kinda dopey, too (more name calling). Especially since the cases of flu in NYC were carried back from Manhattan residents who flew in from MX and had absolutely nothing to do with the land borders. Such a request from representatives of U.S. border states would have made more sense. If Massa wants to keep his name in the media, perhaps he can go to Texas and help Gov. Perry with succession, which is another bright idea.

I heard today that Venezuela, like Cuba, has banned all air travel with MX. I see a pattern here, as Venezuela is run by Fidel Castro wannabe, Hugo C. These are not the kind of actions democratic countries prefer to emulate, tho.

Time to take a deep breath or get a little therapy there Jack. Seems that all What The was just trying to do was add a tiny bit of perspective to a situation that some have chosen to make into an end of the world type issue.

The reality of the situation is it just isn't all that big a threat - and MANY have chosen to jump all over it as an excuse to bash the Obama administration. If you don't like Obama, that's fine - everyone has that right - but closing the boarder over this would be a lot like using a sledge hammer to kill ants in your kitchen - sure, you COULD do it, but there is certainly a more rational approach.

Look at the facts, look at the statistics ..... then if you want to push the panic button or cry about the horror of the current elected American President - at least find something to worry about that won't be a distant memory of a news cycle within a week.

If I'm wrong and people are dropping like flies a week from now, or two weeks from now, I'll be happy to admit that I was wrong and will never question anyone for jumping on the bandwagon like this again - will anyone who is crying about how Obama isn't protecting this country from this horrible threat do the same thing? Sadly, I doubt it - most likely they will be on to the next conspiracy theory, or back to screaming socialism, or (insert fear of the week here).

I'm worried that Furstenau won't catch it.

Am I the only one who finds talk of closing the border with Mexico funny? I heard some news wog breathlessly reporting that his most honorable highness "O" did not think closing the border with Mexico was necessary. "Sanity" gives the insanity of our border with Mexico serious thought I suppose in the 4/30 5:56pm posting on this blog. Reality: About 1,000 people it is estimated by some an hour cross the border illegally now. So how is it that closing the several "official" border crossing stations protects us? The answer of course closing the border does nothing but stops legal crossings and increases illegal crossings. We do not control the border so such talk about closing the border to prevent swine flu or any other undersired substance or activity is without merit. I do think the schools should be closed imeadiately, until further notice to curtail the spread of this swine flue. That WOULD do something to prevent an outbreak locally.

To Sanity and Anonymous on 4/30 at 10:10 PM (with a wink to Furtenau's Backhand): Sanity, you were right on with your analysis, you read me perfectly. I liked your sledge hammer with the ants analogy (wished I'd thought of that). And Anon is right about the border situation. We can officially close legal crossings, but that won't stop the illegal traffic, which has been a problem for decades. Closing the border would only stop commerce, not crossings. Some areas in Mexico are already in self-imposed lock down, which I think is a very responsible move on their part, and schools where the virus is popping up here are being closed for awhile also. So far, so good.

As far as the Obama bashing goes, you know the same news wogs who are criticizing Obama for not closing the borders are the same wogs who will criticize him if he does. I can just see it, "Castro, Chavez and Obama deny citizens free access to Mexico". Hannity, Beck and Dobbs would have a field day with this, calling Obama a socialist/communist in the same league with the other two. Thank God presidents don't govern by opinion, but by conscience. It is such a relief to have brains in the White House once more.

Sanity, whatthe? and Anonymous: Maybe you think closing the border is funny. Fine. That southern land border and all other ports of entry from/to Mexico should have been closed last weekend when the first result of tests showed this new virus. As it is, within one week 300 schools are closed across the country and it is in eleven states. If this develops further and people start dying from it, keep up the giggles and tell others they should seek therapy. Keep washing your hands and stay vigilant and don't utter the word quarantine as your inept leader urges. Hopefully, the flu will turn out to be less aggressive than the bird flu, which had a high mortality rate. Toodles.

Should U.S. citizens who happened to be in Mexico on vacation also have been quarantined and forced to stay in Mexico?

Jack:

Sorry that you just don't get it. The big picture can be difficult to see at times.

But you should consider Sanity's advice. Or at least stop listening to Rush Limbaugh every day. You sound like one seriously angry dude, and carrying this around for the next 8 years will not be good for you. The flu may be the least of your worries.

I am very concerned. Is terrible flatulence one of the symptoms?

How many people died from the bird flu in the US? I believe the answer is no one.

What the?: Brains in the White House again? HA HA, LMFAO. Saw him at his swine flu news conference today and did not hear much brilliance. Nice that the strategic stock piles for medicine have been opened. BFD! And after listening to him, I noticed he has the same thing Bush had. A speech impediment. An inability to communicate. His inability is just different than the one Bush had but make no mistake about it, there is a problem with his ability to conceptualize a thought and then articulate or convey it verbally. So you keep being impressed. I am going to continue to see him as incompetent, inexperienced and irrelevant and laughing at him for the next 4 years. I want to see him wiggle out of double digit unemployment for the next 4 years as he and you quickly learn government does not create jobs but can chase them away as they have done progressively over the past 40 years. Like those green jobs? Another BF HA HA. Wondering about you too. You are all over these blogs at all hours of the day. You are either a child or unemployed. Which is it?

HA HA OBAMA FOOL:

Wow, another angry dude, except that you add a flair of maniacal craziness with all your HA HAs, LMFAOs and BFDs. Kinda creepy, but at least you won't blow a gasket like jack might. As long as you're LYFAO and having a good time, you're probably not much of a risk to yourself or anyone else.

And it's perfectly fine if you don't understand Obama. He tries to keep his messages simple, but try as he might, he's just going to go over some people's heads. You never had to worry about that with W, he always spoke to the lowest common denominator. In fact, he had trouble rising above it. To understand Obama, you at least have to be able to read and write. I understand that it may take you awhile to get up to speed, but hang in there. It should be an interesting 8 years!

As with any other flu we face annually I am concerned for those in "high risk" groups who would normally be urged to get a flu shot to offer them some means of protection who don't have that option for this flu, and I'm concerned about what we may not know about it yet.

Responding to the subject of closing the borders to prevent it from entering the US, "closing the borders" might sound like a simple solution, but how do you go about doing that?

We don't have the technology to enclose the country in some force field from the future.

We depend on US Border patrol agents who live in the US, are US Citizens, and who have US Citizen families. So do we put all of those agents in quarantine indefinitely away from their families and homes until we know it's safe? Additionally to completely close the borders you'd have to line agents along the entire length of the borders, which would require an incredible increase in the number of US Citizens acting as Border Patrol agents all at risk of contracting the virus just across one thin line, this to ensure the virus doesn't enter the US. So then how do you ensure all of those US Citizens "closing the borders" don't contract the virus and bring it into the US? Logically speaking taking these actions would increase the risk and numbers of US citizens contracting the virus.

There is more involved in "Closing the borders" than 3 simple words.

That was one very very sad post. I doubt that anyone doubts that you will continue to see Obama, and most everything else, exactly the way you do, regardless of any evidence to the contrary. That's your right. Your anger however at anyone or anything that does not support your view is way over the top. Sure hope you feel better today than you did last night - that kind of self righteous anger is much more dangerous than this or any other flu.

Sanity: Its HA HA OBAMA. The OBAMA part is the point. You can get it. Try this post on for size. You too What the? A couple of months ago GOOFS like you and Obama were complaining about CEO's flying to Washington to testify and beg for money in private jets. So they ended up driving to Washington. Last week, Obama approves of AF II and a escort fighter jet or two to fly to NY and buzz Manhattan in a "photo op" setting off a mini panic. And of course no outrage from anyone including the aforementioned GOOFS like What the ? and Sanity. Ever even wonder who was on the plane? (That is a secret you are not allowed to know) So you can continue to to hurl barbs at bloggers you disagree with or who challenge the "brains" in the White House. But when he lies claiming he created 150K new jobs since 1/20/09 and another 600K were laid off in the last labor department reporting period alone, the rest of us will continue to be skeptical of his claims as mere lies. Our anger was learned from all the idiots like you two who bashed Bush for 8 years. Pay back is going to be hell and its only beginging. "And its perfectly fine you don't understand Obama". I do understand Obama is indeed a university trained idiot with no experience for the job that he won and was bought for him.

Thanks for proving my point HA HA - I know you added Obama, but I find you to be such a joke that I don't feel like I need to add anything more when addressing you. Please keep yelling and screaming and jumping up and down .... you make yourself and those like you impossible to take seriously.

Just so you know which idiot you're so mad at, I didn't bash Bush for 8 years .... I voted for his father, and if his father had been running again 4 years ago I might have voted for him again. I certainly didn't vote for W the second time he ran - I take pride in learning from my mistakes and being able to admit when something isn't working. I don't blindly follow either party, and I don't scream and cry when my guy lose.

I do believe that Obama deserves a chance - I read today that Warren Buffet said that the majority of the policies that the current administration has been putting in place have been on the right track. I KNOW you think you're smarter than everyone else - that's obvious .... so I'm sure you'll find something about that to ridicule as well.

I fear you've now moved from sad and angry to simply pathetic, so I don't intent to engage you any further. Yell and scream and name call all you want ...... as I said, it only proves my point. Personally I find it gets boring pretty quicklty - so I'm moving on.

ha ha "OBAMA":

The photo op in Manhattan is not a news flash, ha. I heard about this not through Fox News or Rush Limbaugh, but regular news sources. And that's where your problem lies.

You see, folks like Hannity, Beck and Rush are not news people, they are ENTERTAINERS. So when they insist that Obama had to know about the Manhattan flight as Rush did, because "didn't he wonder where his plane had gone?", it becomes real obvious that his target audience is not the brightest bulb in the pack. The presidential airplanes are not parked in hangers next to the White House, Einstein. Nor was the president aware the plane was "missing" because he could not travel that day, as Rush stated, because there is more than one--hence the name Air Force II? Get it?

If you had gotten your information from reliable news sources rather than entertainment stations, you would know that Obama did not authorize the use of the plane. I read and heard that the guy who did authorize it's use was definitely in the hot seat and there was talk of firing him, but I don't know how it was resolved. The point is, if you want to criticize Obama, then go right ahead and have at it. But at least do everyone here the courtesy of having your facts correct when you do. No one wants to waste their time arguing propaganda. Oh, and there was one escort fighter, not two. Just so you know.

Seems like Obama is an entertainer too. He is MC of the liars club in Washington DC after getting his start in the Second City. Don't forget, Obama authorized a top to bottom investigation of the plane matter. Cannot wait for the results. We already know the story from the white house about the "guy" who authorized the flight. Personally, I believe it was Rahm Emanuel. But of course some "guy" has already taken the hit. Funny how What the ? knows all about it but was unable to name the person who ordered it. It was not Guy. I do think those that follow Obama blindly and without question are GOOFS. And on topic, I have not confidence in Obama's ability to do anything except make liberals feel good.

As I mentioned before, you have to know how to read to keep up. Comprehension helps also, so try going more s-l-o-w-l-y this time. I admitted I did not know how it was resolved, but you can hang it on Rahm if you like, why not. It wasn't Obama, which was a big disappointment for you guys, so Rahm is the next best thing.

This is why I think talk radio is so appealing to conservatives. All you guys gotta do is passively tune in and you're good to go. Who needs literacy if you never bother to read anything? Why learn HOW to think when you've got a slew of broadcasters telling you WHAT to think? Heck, you don't even need an edukashun when you've got Professor Rush explaining it all 3 hours a day! A lot of their information may be false, but so what? They know you'll never question it or bother to look it up anyway.

Besides, they keep their jobs by being entertaining, not accurate. Like the show where Rush made the connection between Obama's trips to Mexico and the swine flu. He said, "Obama goes to Mexico, they get swine flu. Obama goes to Mexico, they get an earthquake." That was totally awesome, the way he figured that out!! And all those liberals said Obama had nothing to do with it. What a bunch of GOOFS!

You are very right about one thing, tho. We are feeling good! I prefer it to the miserable bunch of sad sacks the conservatives have become. The Grand Old Party has dissolved into a pity party. I wondered after the election what the conservatives were going to do to keep themselves busy over the next 8 years. Now we know--tea bag rallies and pizza parlor town meetings! No wonder you all sound so angry. I'd be pissed too.

What the? I am one who gets my news information from MSNBC. Keith Oberman defined on a broadcast 3/26/09 at approximately 8:18pm local A GOOF is God Only Obama Forever. On this particular time in his show he was slobering how pleased he was that his righteous highness was president and he only wished he could be president for the rest of his life. Frankly I am glad to have a president who tells me to keep my hands away from my face and wash my hands often as his personal message in combating swine flue or as he calls it H1N1 virus. Just joking. Find it condescending and ignorant. We do indeed now have brains in the white house as one of you previously posted. However I do agree that we have swine flu in the U.S. probably because of Obama. And unlike Bush causing Katrina, mixing avain, swine and human virus into one cell is Awesome. Obama IS genius.

God Only Obama Forever still fits. His righteous highness--LOL! I don't completely rely on MSNBC either, even though I trust them much more than Fox News. Fox has become so biased and vicious that it's no better than propaganda too much of the time. MSNBC is biased as well, but at least they're having a good time with it. But both stations are entertainment commentary more than news. I watch them to be amused, not informed.

If you want to blame O for swine flu in the U.S., go right ahead. The conservatives say they haven't seen Obama walk on water yet, but they have given him credit for summoning an inert life form and moving the earth. Not too bad.

Hey, all:

This says it all about the above topics. Enjoy!

They said that pigs would fly before we ever got national health insurance and SURE ENOUGH...Swine Flu!

GIANT DISTRACTION BY ADMINISTRATION

Emergency, Crisis, Disaster, Fear, Fear Fear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is happening now:

1. $1 Trillion energy tax called Cap and Trade being pushed through. This will double every home's energy bills. $1400 a year increase per home in the USA. Pres. Obama will redistribute the money to his followers.

2. Nationalization of Health Care, if you have a serious condition you will be stabilized and sent home to die. This is a cost savings.

3. GITMO terrorists will be moved to the US and dumped into prisons in any State other than New York or California.

4. Chrysler and GM are being Nationalized and given to the UAW with the Government taking a controlling interest. Apparently, extortion against bond holders is being used to knuckle them under by the Obama regime.

5. The credit of the USA is being destroyed with Trillions in new Fed spending and Trillions being printed up to fund the redistribution to the unions and the new lifetime welfare programs.

6. Mrs Biggert and the Democrats are going to criminalize free speech and freedom of association by ramming through the thought control bill under the rubric of "hate crimes". This also creates unequal protection under the law, a violation of our Constitution. This message was just flagged at DHS for using a monitored word.

If you speak out against gay marriage it will be a hate crime once Rep. Biggert's thought control bill is passed. All churches will be required to prove they don't discriminate by forcing them to hire openly gay employees, yes gay quotas. Every hiring, pay raise and promotion decision will now be contested in Federal Court with the employer vs. the FEDs.

7. President Obama just disabled all of our Intelligence and covert operations that have kept us safe since 9-11. After the next big terrorist attack in the USA what agenda items will Pres. Obama ram through? He must know he just threw the door open to terrorists.

What's next; gun round-ups and preventative detention like they have in Europe? Prison with no trial.

8. With their numbers sinking rapidly, the Democrats are already talking amnesty for 12-20 million illegal aliens including 500K to 1 million gang members. Chavez used this same trick in Venezuela to create 2 million instant Chavez voters. This is a power grab to cement one party rule in the USA for the next 50 years. Citizenship, welfare and the vote. To be fair, the jack ass Bush created this problem with the endless quest for cheap labor along with the Chamber of Commerce.

Bubo, this has got to be you:

GIANT DISTRACTION BY ADMINISTRATION

Emergency, Crisis, Disaster, Fear, Fear Fear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the giant distraction by the administration? The only "Emergency, Crisis, Disaster, Fear, Fear Fear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" being propagated is by the Republicans every time Obama does something. I know change can cause anxiety because it contains an element of the unknown, but get a grip, man! Whatever happened to home of the brave? The more the GOP freaks and fights, the more they show themselves to be unfit stewards of this country. I want competent, thinking adults running the government, not impulsive, fearful ones.

I'm by-passing points 1-7 because I can tell by your fear speak that you're already too far gone. But I did see a glimmer of rationality in #8. When you say Democrats are are considering amnesty for illegals and suggest this is being done to create instant Democratic votes, you also add "To be fair, the jack ass Bush created this problem with the endless quest for cheap labor . . ."

Don't forget (R)Ronald Reagan. He granted a sweeping amnesty of all illegal aliens when he was in office. I think most hispanics used to vote Republican, but in the last election about 60% voted Democratic, so this is beginning to shift. But unless you want to admit that Reagan granted amnesty in order to get millions of automatic conservative votes to consolidate Rep power for the next 50 years, which obviously didn't happen, claiming amnesty is being considered by the Dems now as part of a power-grabbing conspiracy sounds paranoid.

Dems don't have to consider amnesty for a power grab. It has already been a power GIFT, given to the Dems by Reagan's amnesty and Bush's inaction as illegal immigration swelled. Thanks, guys!
