Naperville fans of the MTV show "Jersey Shore" are no doubt
buzzing about the upcoming appearance Sept. 24 of cast member DJ Pauly D at the opening of LIT Nightclub on Aurora Avenue. According to club marketing director Brandon Smith, 400 tickets for the event already have been sold.
So, are you one of the 400? Gonna get all decked out for the big event? And does this make Naperville more of the cool place to be? Come on, sounds like fun!
UPDATE: Well Pauly showed up. Did you?

Glad this club is in Aurora, keep it out of Naperville.
i can't believe situation makes $5m/yr...wtf!!
Editor's note: Reporters have talked to local fire officials who say no one was cleared out of LIT.
DJ Pauley,,The inside scoop..After tables were sold in excess of $400 and a $60 dollar cover charge. Club LIT over sold the venue by 300 tickets and after the club, room for 500 people, had jammed an additional 300 inside, collecting the door cover, local fire marshals arrived and let the air of of LIT to the tune of 300 people to meet code. DJ Pauley who's estimated take for a 45 minute DJ appearance was $15000, walked in breezed by the $400 tables waving, took the DJ both, played for 45 minutes then vacated the building, went to IHOP for breakfast then to his hotel and was wisked out of town early Saturday AM for another gig in Milwaukee.
I guess Naperville isn't the hot spot of the world after all
Annie -
only the east side in most areas. The west side in that area is Aurora.
Route 59 is officially Naperville!!!!
So I hear that it's $60 at the door if u didn't buy a ticket in advance... R u kidding me? Just to get a peep at him in which u may not? Sorry but that's 60 mcdoubles that I could stack up on for the winter
LIT Nightclub's address is 4448 E New York St., AURORA, IL. Find it on Google maps. It is is Aurora.
Naperville Sun editors asked:
OK. Does this mean Aurora is cooler than Naperville?
No. It means you can disregard my second post. My first post still stands. And, to Aurora: I'm not sorry.
A quick internet search shows that the club will be right inside Aurora, on the corner of New York Street/Aurora Avenue and Route 59.
OK. Does this mean Aurora is cooler than Naperville?
From the article:
"On Sept. 24, LIT Nightclub will open at 4448 E. New York St. in Aurora with DJ Pauly D, real name Paul Delvecchio, at the turntables. "
So it's in Aurora, not Naperville, on New York St. which is Aurora Ave. in Naperville.
It's another case of something advertising itself at Naperville when it is really in Aurora.
I am a working adult with a masters degree in his 30's but refuse to admit out loud in front of people that Jersey Shore may be the most guilty pleasure I've ever had. I've never felt so good about myself as I do when watching this show. I think it's hilarious.
While I'm not the type to go clubbing and definitely won't be paying $40 to get into this "show," you may find me in the parking lot with sunglasses on or a brown paper bag over my head trying to catch a glimpse of DJ Pauly D. It's no different than people hanging out in front of the theater in Aurora last year trying to catch a glimpse of Johnny Depp.
Just please, dear God, I hope my daughter never turns out like Snookie!!!
Guess I should have paid a little more attention to the original blurb. The night club is on Aurora Avenue, not in Aurora. So I guess this takes Naperville down quite a few notches on the coolness scale. My apologies to Aurora.
Hate to break it to you guys, the night club is actually in Aurora according to the address (and the article if you read it further.) So according to your logic above, that makes Aurora cooler.
And does this make Naperville more of the cool place to be?
You mean more cool in comparison with Aurora? Absolutely, yes.
I would love to see the demographic who actually paid for this ticket especially to see this guy.
A night club in Naperville???? That ought to last less than a year.
Well, why not. Let's just keep adding to the inexorable downward spiral of what used to be such a great city.
