Three years out and in a different town Javier Anaya, 21, still can't walk outside without his hoodie up. "I've been threatened my whole life," Anaya said. From the age of six Anaya has claimed loyalty to the Latin Kings until three years ago when at the age of 19 he walked away. "I've done my share of crime I regret," he said. Growing up in Chicago, Anaya would hang out with his cousin who was a King and introduced him to the gang, but after watching his cousin get killed in 2008 and having a son of his own, Anaya knew it was time to leave. Here he poses for a photo in Aurora on Friday, January 4, 2013. Away from gang life, Anaya aspires to be in law enforcement, "I want to be an officer that can relate to the people on the streets." he said.
