It's not just freshmen who are rooming the halls of Morris High School getting to know their new stomping ground.
The school district hired four new teachers this year and sent out a brief bio of each that I will post below.
If you see these new people make sure to say hello, welcome them to Morris and thank them for taking on a job to help shape Morris High School students into well-rounded adults.
To contact these new teachers visit the school's new Web site, www.morrishs.org.
Jodi Brodbeck -- is excited to be working in a small community this year. For the last 12 years she taught at West Chicago High School in West Chicago. She is teaching Biology and Life Science. Brodbeck is looking forward to an environment that has more parent and community involvement.
Justin Gund -- started working at summer band camp within days of being hired as the new band director. He got to meet a lot of the band members right away. He is looking forward to working with the talented students in Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band. He is also teaching the History of Rock and Roll. Gund previously taught at Marengo Community High School for four years.
Bill Lauer -- graduated from Illinois State University last May. He is excited to finally be the teacher instead of the student. He is teaching Global Studies and Western Civilization. You will also find Lauer busy in the Athletic Department because he is coaching freshman football and basketball.
Elizabeth Siebeck -- has come out of retirement after two years to teach the students French and Spanish. She previously taught at Dundee Middle School. While she has quite a drive from Elgin, she is looking forward to meeting the students of MCHS and working with them. She is excited to see their progress throughout the school year. Siebeck is also counting the days until a trip to France next summer. She won the trip from Hotel Sofitel and Chez Colette.
Sorry we were not sent a photo of Kristen Kubinski, but she is also another great addition to the school.
Kristen Kubinski -- is a first year teacher who earned her Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of St. Francis. She is teaching special education at MCHS through the Grundy County Special Education Cooperation. She is excited to use the strategies she learned and to use them to benefit her students to enhance their learning experience.

the Sun-Times News Group. She helps cover the Lincoln-Way area and towns
southwest of Joliet. Being naturally nosy has led her to a career in
journalism and fulfilled her dream of getting paid to read. Being a new

hearing about other people in the same situation. She lives in Plainfield
but is a native of New Lenox.
Christina Chapman is a Will County resident who desperately wants to live in Grundy County. But since she lost that battle with her boyfriend when they bought a house, she makes due covering Grundy County news for The Herald News in Joliet. When not covering municipal meetings, school events and finding the truth behind the latest coffee talk, she is trying to balance life as a young home owner who is fighting the stereotype that she is living in sin because she is not yet married. She hopes to share with you her perspective on life and the news in hopes that you’ll share yours.
