In today's story titled "No Oprah? No problem for park rally" the wrong phone number is included at the bottom of the story for Rachel Pfaff.
Pfaff is the woman in charge of the Save the Parks rally, which will be starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. Pfaff's correct phone number is (815) 941-1079.
I greatly apologize for the incorrect number being printed. Please spread the word to anyone interested in speaking with Pfaff.
Otherwise here is the important information again.
Participants are asked to meet at William G. Stratton Park in Morris to park and walk the I&M Canal towpath to Gebhard Woods State Park where the actual rally will take place.
To get to Stratton Park take Illinois 47 in Morris south and make a right on Illinois Avenue. Then make a left at the canal bridge at the end of the road and then the immediate left after the bridge. This takes you to the Stratton Park along the Illinois River.
See the whole story here.
Pfaff has been planning the rally for the last couple of months. Much of the planning has been done from her bed since she is on bed rest while she is pregnant.
Despite her efforts to get a big name like Oprah or Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn at the event, neither guest will be there. Honestly, this should not matter. The point of the rally is not who is there, but how many are there and why everyone is there.
The Governor is wrong to attempt taking the parks from the people and the only way he is going to hear the people is if everyone shouts together.
So make your way to Gebhard Woods Saturday and help make sure another day of fun in the sun will be given to our families.
