Upcoming Holiday Treats

In need of some holiday spirit? Could you use a good holiday carol?

The Morris High School Madrigal Singers are your perfect fit. OK, I've never heard them sing myself, but I have no doubt that their vocal stylings will do nothing, but please.

So gather the family and head out for a night of holiday cheer. Below is a listing of when and where the Morris Madrigals will be.

Friday Dec. 12: Morris Hospital at 3:15 p.m.

Sunday Dec. 14: MCHS Choirs Holiday Choral Concert at 2:00 p.m. at the school

Monday Dec. 15: private party for Legacy Investment Service in Joliet

Wednesday Dec. 17: Morris Kiwanis Club Meeting at 12:30 p.m.

Friday Dec. 19: Madrigal Dinner-Concert at 6:30 p.m. in the school's cafeteria

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Madrigals, this is not your average choir. The students dress in period Renaissance costumes and sing typical madrigal songs of the 16th and 17th centuries in addition to traditional carols.

For the dinner on Dec. 19 you have to have reservations in by today, sorry for the late notice. But if you hurry you can still make it. Call Paul W. Jung, Director of Choral Activities, at (815) 941-5314.
