It's Jan. 2 and Morris Hospital has yet to see the first baby delivered in 2009.
No worries, I just got a call a couple of hours ago that a mother has just gone into labor. So Morris Baby 2009 is on the way.
Keep your fingers crossed for the poor women that she doesn't have a 24 hour labor.
Once we get word that he or she has joined the world, we will have a full story for you so keep your eye out.
You can read about Joliet's first babies here.
When I came into work this morning I was quite surprised to hear that no one had delivered New Year's Day at Morris Hospital. In fact as of 9 a.m. today there wasn't even a mommy in labor.
But to my surprise this isn't unusual. Apparently from time to time Morris Hospital does encounter 3 or 4 days of no deliveries.
I guess I always pictured hospitals like the movies where a mother is being rushed down the hallway in a wheelchair ready to pop with another couple arriving through the emergency room doors.
In case you didn't already figure this out, I'm not a mother, and apparently I have a lot to learn.
