Sure, we had the Sosa-McGwire home-run chase, which was a total farce. But not the biggest of 1998.

That would be the Oscars.

Here's what won ...
Best picture -- Titanic
Best actor - Jack Nicholson, As Good as it Gets
Best supporting actor - Helen Hunt, As Good as it Gets
Best actress - Robin Williams, Good Will Hunting
Best supporting actress - Kim Bassinger, L.A. Confidential

Titanic!?! As Good as it Gets! Good Will Hunting!?! All terrible.

And perhaps the greatest movie ever made didn't even get nominated.

Here's what should have won ...

Best picture - The Big Lebowski
Best actor - Jeff Bridges, The Big Lebowski
Best supporting actor - John Goodman, The Big Lebowski
Best actress - Julianne Moore, The Big Lebowski
Best supporting actress - Robin Jones, The Big Lebowski
