comes courtesy of SI.com, which thankfully includes this ridiculous statement about a high school running back:
"Brown is talented enough to influence Miami coach Randy Shannon's hire. Shannon would do well to find a coordinator who likes to use the run to set up the pass and wants to feed his feature back the football."
huh?
Sorry. No individual player is ever talented enough to influence a coaching hire. None.
This kid could blow an ACL in pre-season workouts and not play at full speed until 2010. Or, he could decide to do a variety of fun off-field activities that wipe out any talent he has. Or, he could be a pro by his third year, meaning the team is stuck with an o-coordinator that doesn't fit a new batch of recruits.
Or, Miami could recruit a Pat White-type QB who needs the spread the very next year.
Absurd.
