Back (for awhile) and I don't think you were surprised to learn that Aaron Rowand was at it again over the weekend.
Rowand - or The Fire and The Passion for the rest of us - preserved Jonathan Sanchez's no-hitter over the weekend...
The Fire and The Passion made a leaping grab at the fence to rob Edgar Gonzalez for the second out of the ninth innning.
"I was going to go up and over and land on the other side of the fence if I had to, to try to make the catch," Rowand said.
Of course he would've.
Rowand would've run through the fence.
He would have then knocked out the beer vendor and punted the three small children waiting for the impending home run to get to the bleacher steps.
He would've stuck a cleat in the grill of the grandparents highlighted on the "kiss cam" to take another three steps before pounding a Miller Light and breaking his face on a random brick wall before making the catch.
Why?
Because he has The Fire.
And The Passion.
And if you're looking for a couple great causes to support - and love golf - here are 2 outings worth your time....
Women golfers wanted to tee off against breast cancer.
A Rally for the Cure women's golf outing will be held Thursday
July 16 at Blackberry Oaks Golf Course (2245 Kennedy Road, Bristol).
Tee times for the 9-hole rally begin at 3:30. Rally golfers receive tee
gifts and are entered in to a variety of prize contests including the Titleist
One-Swing contest and the Rally for the Cure Closest to the pin contest.
Since it debuted in 1996, the mission of Rally for the Cure has been
to emphasize the critical life-saving message of early breast cancer detection
in the successful treatment of breast cancer and to support the mission of
Susan G. Komen for the Cure to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.
The rally entry fee is $20 and greens fees are $20 walking/$30 riding.

Every golfer receives a door prize and a gift as well.
The outing benefits the Mironda K. Heston Medical Clinic in Haiti, as well as the Heston Scholarship for Public Service at North Central College in Naperville.
