Daily Dose: Sept. 3 - The best may be yet to come...

In today's Beacon News, we take a look at how exciting this year's Kaneland Knights football team is, mainly because of the growth of junior QB Joe Camiliere.

But Kaneland fans should really be excited for another reason - the 2010 conference realignment that has the Knights moving into a conference with DeKalb, Dixon, Geneseo,
LaSalle-Peru, Morris, Ottawa, Rochelle, Sterling, Streator, Sycamore and
Yorkville.

From Batavia coach Mike Gaspari...
"The other thing that will benefit (Camiliere) next year as a senior is Kaneland moving into the new league they're going to be in.

There is not as much passing that goes on in that league, from what I've seen, so they might have a little bit more trouble dealing with what Kaneland does. Sometimes if you don't do those things yourselves, it becomes more difficult to defend."

Then the veteran coach added this caveat:
"It depends on the core of kids coming back. I know he has some senior receivers this year they're going to have to replace the following year when he's a senior. It's all about that cycle on the high school level and trying to piece in those ties that are missing from the graduation from the previous year."
