Daily Dose: July 6 - What's next for Bowden?

well, Michael Bowden's been passed over again.

After a horrific start to the season as he adjusted to new mechanics, the big right-hander has been on fire. He is currently 4-3 with a 3.77 ERA.

He was 2-1 in June with a 2.35 ERA and has started off July with a win, giving up just one run in 7 2/3 innings.

Yet he can't get a call up to the big club, even though the Red Sox have been beset by injuries.

Bowden has been the subject of trade talks for the better part of his career, and you wonder just how long the Red Sox will continue to keep him in the minor leagues.

EDIT: This breaking news out of the East says Bowden has been moved to the bullpen in Pawtucket. He was willing to make this move on the big league level, but not sure how he feels about it as a minor leaguer. Perhaps this will get him back to Boston quicker...
