You pick the winners

Dear SwamI,
Don't you have any other interests besides sports and politics? Signed, Concerned.

Dear Concerned,

Swami views life as a grand performance. We paint, we sculpt, we sing the body electric. And we play the banjo. As an example, our fave art event his month is a contest from the folks at the.spinner.com to pick the best opening lines to rock songs. You can hear them, too.

Our view is that the folks there arew too young to be true judges.

For example how can "You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips"
-- from The Righteous Brothers' 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'' be only No.. 23?

How is "Hello, Darkness, my old friend" from Simon and Garfunkel's 'The Sound of Silence' only at 21?

"There must be some kind of way out of here, said the joker to the thief" from Jimi Hendrix's 'All Along the Watchtower' is No. 14.

No. 8 is certainly a keeper. "Well, it's one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, now go, cat, go!" Can you name the winner and the tune?

Better give your ball a shake. It's giving you inaccurate information. Bob Dylan wrote "All along the Watchtower."

"Blue Suede Shoes" is the winner tune. That was written by Carl Perkins, not Elvis.
