dumb-de-dum-dum...

Oh, the wicked, tortured plots and plans being hatched in the realms of that mighty but evil Camelot on the hill called Gurnee. And to think, the world revolves around a lousy junkyard. Whadup, oh Swami?

So now the village board in Gurnee has finally given approval for a new junk yard (oops, sorry, Elegant Salvage Emporium ) to be moved across the street on Washington to its new location after a lawsuit by the owners against Park City apparently got that village to pipe down about the issue.

The salvage yard always aggravated Park City folks because it abuts that town. But it’s always been a Gurnee property.

Now Gurnee gets the tax benefits of whatever will be built on the old property, plus the goodies from a new facilitae d’wreck.

Gurnee’s mayor is totally agin’ it, (It’s that Vision Thang that Biush has such a hard time with) though she claims she was banned (???? More on that later) from speaking on the topic for the last six months. Way to stand up and fight for your town, Your Honor. She won’t veto the plan claiming, “My conscience would be greatly compromised if I signed this ordinance.”

So it will go into effect without her signature, thereby sustaining her delicate but exquisite honor.

Yowzuh! Is this a hoot or what?

Swami believes this all has to do with the unproven and salacious theory in some parts that the former Town Attorney in Gurnee (who got the boot along with his hefty retainer) is supposedly angling to regain control of the Town Hall in Gurnee and get back his booty.

Ill-gotten booty , we might add.

Meanwhile, the hostile, conspiratorial e-mails are zinging in all directions. Editors at the News-Sun have gotten plenty which they have passed along to Swamii.

These four are interersting, mostly because it sort of feels like they’re all from the same person. See if you can tell why:

parkcitysoprano@hushmail.com: “ Park City should worry more about their underfunded police operation than their beautification of the trailer park community.
“ The gang bangers that reside in this community spread their scourge of trouble into Warren High School like no other element of this school district. I guess the Park City officials figure they can just let the school security officers handle the problems that originate and fester within their jurisdiction.”

Petermintor@hushmail.com: “Ever wonder who the County Talkers are? They are the Tumbleweeds of Trouble. First Antioch, then Park City, now the Tumbleweed is rolling into Gurnee. Look at who gains the most by spinning facts and trying to sway elections. It is the municipal attorneys, or former municipal law firms that want the coveted appointment back again.”

gurneedevelopment@hushmail.com: “Kudos to Gurnee for passing the Auto Parts City recycling facility, and for adding much needed EAV tax money to School Districts 56 and 121. It is time the residents of Park City pull their weight within the community and allow for development that will help keep our struggling school districts viable. These are the same district schools that the Park City children attend, yet pay only about $ 275 per trailer lot per year for the grade school, and only $ 130 per lot per year for the high school.”

Trailertrashtalker@hushmail.com: “Looks like the Talk of the County is heating up with Park City trying to cover the actions of their own municipal attorney and elected officials being MIA for the last go round of hearings. If they truly don’t want the auto recycling development, and they truly are representing the Park City folks, all they have to do is refuse to give this development the sewer and water that Park City controls. It is a simple solution, unless the Park City government is not disclosing all there is to know.”

As John Paul Jones said, "I have not yet begun to fight."
