Swami, is there any candidate running for president that we’ve never heard of? Someone so far on the fringe of political reality that he needs two bus tokens to reach civilization? Signed: Politically adventuresome.
Dear PA, our preferred candidate is someone named Daniel Gilbert. He's a Carolinian who makes Pat Robertson seems like a beacon of moderate rationality. Being both a soothsayer and licensed Mary Kay marketer gets Swami placed on several very interesting mailing lists.
Here’s his pitch. Buckle your seat belts, boys and girls. From his current missive, heeres' DANNY!....
GOP Stuffs Unacceptable Three Candidates Down Conservative’s Throats

Daniel Gilbert’s remarks:
Democrats are now out-raising Republicans by 2 to 1. How has top GOP leadership continued to respond? Anointing and backing the top 3 candidates who do not represent or unite the base and continue to fall flat when courting their traditional Conservative base.
As I travel around the country, I am constantly approached by Republican voters who express a deep frustration. Frustration that their voices were not heard in the “thumping” of 2006, and that their voices continue to fall on deaf ears in what is considered one of the most critical elections of our time; not only for the survival of the Republican Party, but for the security and future of our nation.
Many Conservative voters feel they are being blackmailed by top GOP leadership, who threaten if Conservatives do not vote for the anointed candidate, Hillary will win in 2008 and all heck will break loose (Hillary-a-phobia). Granted, another Clinton Presidency has the potential to cause great harm to our nation, but should we expect any less should one of the top three Republicans win the Presidency in 2008? There is a deep mistrust and uneasiness with the “anointed ones”.
Many Conservative voters have been burned since 2004. This has been an injustice to many supporters. Incumbents, who inevitably became drunk with power, abandoned the grassroots movement responsible for their election. Over-spending, amnesty for illegals and a lack of a backbone to stand up for conservative principles led to our historic loss of Congress in 2006.
Democrats did not own victory in 2006. Republicans ceded it for their lack of adherence to and standing up for core Conservative issues; and the GOP refused to take notice. The GOP poured salt on these wounds by prematurely anointing Presidential candidates who have either flip-flopped or thumbed their noses at the base.
What difference would it make should one of the top three Republican candidates become President? As the Democratic debate last week showcased, 2008 will not revolve around conditions in Iraq. None of the top Democratic candidates committed to –and rightly so – a complete troop withdrawal. No President, Democrat or Republican, would accept the blood on their hands resulting from a timetable of surrender.
Iraq is not the deal-breaker in 2008. The Republican primary revolves around which candidate is going to curb an ever-bloated federal government, end oppressive taxation, respect the sanctity of life, uphold the traditional definition of marriage, and support LEGAL immigration. Unfortunately, the top GOP leadership has muddied the waters on these issues for the sake of top GOP candidates, who have engaged in a power grab in favor of Hillary-a-phobia.
Conservative Republicans do not need to feel powerless. Whether it be Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, or myself, it is not too late to rejuvenate the base. We the People can demand better candidates who excite that base, provide a formidable candidate unafraid of Hillary-a-phobia, and encourage supporters who are actually excited about current conservative candidates. Grassroots and volunteerism will continue to be the heart of the Conservative movement, as long as we continue to believe in and whole-heartedly support the same values our supporters share.
It should be a major Red Flag to the GOP that the most powerful leaders of the conservative movement recently met at a private meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah, regarding the possibility of going outside of the Republican party to create a third party, based on the conservative and Godly principles that the Republican Party was founded on.
The GOP has anointed three top candidates of which, one has major theology and flip flopping/trust issues, another will allow abortion, has committed adultery, and is so liberal that you could swear that he was a liberal dressed in Republican clothing, and another, who does not respect the sovereignty of our nation and who will grant amnesty to hundreds of thousands of people who came in to our country, ILLEGALLY.
Ofcourse, no candidate is perfect, but we should start with one who has values, believes in the constitution, and wants to protect the sovereignty of the United States.
Conservatives need to reiterate to the GOP that we will not go quietly into the night or the ballot box. We will refuse to be taken for granted or cower to top GOP bullying. All it takes is one person to stand up against a bully to follow – will you?

GILBERT
for President
Conservative Principles
Heartland Values
In 2000 I voted for President Bush and the Republicans. I had high hopes that with the Republicans in control of the legislature and the executive branches that real change would occur in our government. I thought that the principles that we all thought the Republicans stood for would guide the Republicans to do what is best for the country. I thought I would see a new higher moral standard. What we got was corruption, bribes, moral decline, hearings with no action, tax breaks for big business, McCain Feingold and last year 15,000 earmarks. We get a Republican majority in the Senate and a President who think that the best way to handle the illegal alien problem is to give them amnesty. And just last month we had a great break through with the North Koreans where they agreed to not do what they agreed to not do under Clinton. How much will it cost the American citizens this time?
There has to be a change in Presidential and Congressional leadership to affect change in this country. There has to be a way to get the politicians out and the statesmen in. Those politicians who vote only for the sake of the party, the lobbyist or big business have to be removed. To bring about substantial changes in the government these new statesmen must control the House, Senate and the White House.
