Swami, what’s the deal with the student bringing the noose to school at Warren High? What does it mean? Is the school rife with racial animosity?
The video universe permeates all our consciences. For example, the story of a young, idiot mook bringing nooses to the school’s parking lot was immediately pounced upon by the Chi. Tribune as proof of a nationwide movement.
The Jena uprising in Louisiana upon which this imitation is based has beenargely a video experience rather the one powered by common experience. It's an imspiration.
Find any three events that look the same and you can build the case for a conspiracy, or at least a trend. It’s the basic model all newspapers use to build cases to show what they think is a defensible argument about their keen insight in the social universe..
We suppose the Warren event could show a new outpost in the racist mania has been established, only because one video on YouTube launches a image tsunami that sweeps around the world, while enveloping weak minds.
But mostly, the Swami thinks, the video immersion only inspires dumb people to repeat the dumbness, They were dumb before the video and they will be dumb after it. This is not so much a evil social movement as it is brainless imitation by posers.
So the parents and administrators at Warren can breathe a sigh of relief..
They have not necessareily provided s welcome environment for racist self-expression. The have only inspired dumb students to be even dumber than normal.
Welcome to modern public education.
"Brainless imitation" (in addition to any generally brainless activity) has been around in high schools for centuries.
So what else is new?
Nothing spurs stupidity like mass-media hype, so if we ignore it, maybe it will go away.
