For the record, the Swami has picked Lake Zuricc to win for 13 consecutive weeks. This crystal bsll work isn't as hard as it seems. And since the Bears are 12-1, the only miss was the team’s Week 1 last-second upset loss to Palatine Fremd. And now for the biggest game of the uear

Alas, when the IHSA pairings came out for this year’s football playoffs and Wheaton-Warrenville South – a perennial Class 8A title contender – wound up dropped down to Class 7A because of school enrollment, virtually everyone who knows anything about football in this state immediately conceded the Class 7A title to the Tigers.

So far this postseason, they’ve done nothing to justity picking against them.

Their shutout win over East St. Louis – the fastest team in the state – last weekend in the semifinals pretty much served as a tuneup for Saturday’s finale against Lake Zurich.

Besides, not only is W-W South playing in the 7A title game, but two other teams from the same Dupage Valley Conference – Naperville Central and Glenbard North – are playing for the Class 8A title right after the 7A game concludes.

Clearly this will be a great day for the Dupage Valley Conference and, alas, another runner-up finish for the Lake Zurich Bears. We could be wrong and, in fact, we hope we are wrong. But the cosmic signs all point to this:

W-W South wins… 21-0.
