Because we all know you are a great defender of integrity and thoughtfulness, I guess you are disgusted as I am they have let that awful Don Imus back on the air, aren’t you? He is exactly what we don’t need. Just another man with foul ideas and racism in his heart. Signed: Upset in Libertyville.

Swami loves Imus.
And even though Swami completely understood why Imus had to go stand in the corner for eight months while he chanted “I must not use the offensive phrase Nappy Headed Hos again” 8 million times while swatting himself with a small quirt, we think it's time for reason, and Imus, to return.
Plus, while Swami completely understood why the usual coterie of race baiters and mouth breathers such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton had their say, we were mostly appalled that “Today” weather dimwit Al Roker weighed in with his views and people ACTUALLY PAID ATTENTION.
Just another sign that the Apocalypse was at hand.
Of course, Imus’ deliberate, ribald insensitivity is an acquired taste much like buttermilk and grits. If you get that he’s doing shtick, you tend to find some, though not all of it funny. Otherwise it’s a slap upside your head with a large dead fish.
We only fear that the threat of more retribution makes Imus less edgy than he was before, a concern he tried to put aside in his first day back on Monday.
He promised to talk more about race relations in a curative tone. “Other than that,” he said, “not much has changed. Cheney is still a war criminal, Hillary is still Satan and I’m back on the radio.”
But other than that jab, reports indicate he was very soft on his first day. We’ll give him a few days to get his sea legs back, and then we hope he returns to most of his angry, vicious vitriol.
Swami just hates it when he’s the only angry old man in the bar.
