Additional Info on Tinted Windows

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

"Hi Sgt Ness, I was going over some older questions on the SuburbanChicagonews.com website about vehicle tint on cars and I was trying to comprehend some things about it. So if my comprehension serves me right, the front window and 2 driver side windows cannot have tint on them, correct? But the rear window as well as the 2 backseat windows can have tint on them? Now is there a limit to how dark the tint can be on these 3 windows? Is there a tint that is too dark or is any tint okay?
Thanks,"

Background Checks

"I was charged with Unlawful Use of a Credit Card in 2003, and my case was closed in 2005. I was not given probation, nor any jail time. I did however receive Court Supervision, and since this was my first offense, I was told that as long as I did not get into anymore trouble that it would come off of my record. I'm not sure if this was considered a misdemeanor since I was not put on probation. Now my question is, when I fill out job applications and they ask have I been convicted of a misdemeanor, do I answer yes to this question or do i answer no, since I was told that this would come off of my record??? And when employers do background checks, will this show on my record?
Please help! "
Thanks, Heather

RV Plates

"Randy, I work in Chicago and sometimes see pickup trucks with "RV" registration on them. There is no camper shell on the truck. I'm told some people do this to allow them to drive their trucks on Lake Shore Drive and to park along the downtown city streets. Is this a violation of the vehicle registration act?"
Thanks, Thomas

"Hello, I was wondering if there is a limit on what is illegal transportation of alcohol. I was using my dads truck and he had old beer cans in it. I did not know about them. They were very old anyways and I got a ticket for illegal transportation. I did not know they were even there, I was wondering if there is some kind of rule or stimpulation on it.
Thank you"

Emergency Lighting

"Dear Trooper Ness: I am a member of the ILARNG and work as a security guard for the same. We recently acquired a police light bar for use on our emergency response vehicle on post. This has touched off a debate. One of our sergeants claims that there is a provision in IL statutes concerning the fact that the red light side must be on the left of the vehicle and that certain colors of lights are given to certain population areas. i.e., all red for cities under 150,000 pop. Are either of these true? I have looked all through the Motor Vehicle Code (I am a law student) and the ILCS and found nothing."
Thanks,
Randy M.

"Hi, I am a young driver (16) who received a moving violation (10-19 over speed limit.) If I choose to attend traffic school, and pay the 105 dollar fine, will my insurance ever find out about my violation? Also, I received the citation in another county, lake, but I live in cook, do I still need to attend traffic school in the given lake county locations? Thank you."

Lighting on Antique Vehicles

"Hi, I just purchased a 1926 Ford Model T automobile recently. The car never had brake lights or turn signals when it was manufactured. I am getting ready to install these because of safety concerns, however I was asked recently about the law and this situation. Are they still required even though they never had them from the factory? Thanks."
