Supervision for Traffic Offenses

"Hi, I am a young driver (16) who received a moving violation (10-19 over speed limit.) If I choose to attend traffic school, and pay the 105 dollar fine, will my insurance ever find out about my violation? Also, I received the citation in another county, lake, but I live in cook, do I still need to attend traffic school in the given lake county locations? Thank you."

One purpose of Court Supervision is to keep a violation off of your driving record, as long as you don't violate the terms of the supervision (get another ticket). The violation would not be available to your insurance company if you successfully complete the term of supervision. Court Supervision is generally County specific. Therefore, if you receive a citation in Lake County, you would most likely have to go to traffic school there, unless the Judge allows you to make other arrangements. You would have to address that issue with the Judge or State's Attorney in the County where you received the ticket.
