"Sgt. Ness, I have a very broad knowledge of Forensics and Investigative Experience in the Private Sector of Law Enforcement, how can I take the knowledge I aready have and apply it to a career of similar intrests within the Public Law Enforcement Community, or within the Federal Law Enforcement System? I have found most private sector companies are not able to function in times of high financial crisis and are closing rapidly. At my current age of 33, it's ben very difficult finding a home for my knowledge and experience, and freelancing does not provide adequate enough income, for my wife and daughter and myself to live and benefit financially. Any advice would be appreciated, and respected."

I would encourage you to look into the Illinois State Police for employment. Whether you are interested in a sworn or non-sworn position, we have much to offer. For years now, there has been no age limitation, as long as you can complete the academy, for sworn positions. You can check www.illinoistrooper.com or www.isp.state.il.us for more career information. You can also check with larger local and county departments that may have their own Forensics or evidence units. Good Luck and Thanks for writing.
