Infant in the Front Seat

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

"I have a quick question in regards to infant being placed in car seat - obviously facing rear window but placed in the front passenger seat?? Is that legal ? Thank You"

Illinois law does not specify that infants must be placed in the rear seat. However, it is best practice to place the child in the back seat because it is statistically safer, and allows more protection area than the front seat does. That said, if the seat is properly installed in the front seat, you would be complying with the law.

You might want to speak with a certified Child Safety Seat Technician or attend a free Child Safety Seat Check in your area to find out more information or get help with installing the seat. Technicians can often give you insight and help you make the best decisions when transporting your child.
