Survivor Micronesia-- episode one

Our girl Kathleen from Wheaton (known as Kathy here) makes an immediate impression in "Fans vs. Favorites," but it's not a good one. Lucky for her she also finds an immunity idol, so she has at least one tribal council's worth of safety, and can use that time to charm the other Fans.
Meanwhile on the Favorites Jonny Fairplay, who lied about a grandmother having died last time he played, is up to his old tricks, trying (and mostly succeeding) in getting everyone on his side.
What did you think of tonight's show?
(The extended entry contains the evening's result, so don't read on yet if you don't want to know.)

Other things I learned from my very first episode of "Survivor." (that's right, I'm a newbie.)

- "Ice cream scooper" is a job worthy of note.
- Kathy likes Yau Man.
- Kathy gets a special immunity idol, thanks to Yau Man. This means she will survive her first tribal council.
- Mikey calls Kathy "Big Bird."
- Kathy is making quite the name for herself. She asks the gay guy if he wants to be a girl, and commented on someone's breasts. The tribe agrees, "she's lucky she found the immunity idol."
- Ouch! "The second the crazy lady found the immunity idol, I think everyone was a little worried, because I think we all kind of felt as a consensus that she was going to be the first one to go."
- James is a gravedigger!
- The fans didn't get their shelter built, and the first night Kathy cries that "right now this sucks!"
- Everyone wants this creep, Jonny Fairplay, on their alliance. I wouldn't want this guy in my town!
- The fans won the first challenge.
- Jonny Fairplay is voted off. He was apparently happy to go. He still seems like kind of an idiot to me.
